Title : Title:A Solar Stationary Type IV Radio Burst and its Radiation Mechanism
Abstract
Solar radio burst is the intense increase of radio frequency radiation induced by solar eruptions. We observed a stationary type IV (IVs) radio burst on Sep 24, 2011. Through NRH (Nançay RadioHeliograph) data analysis, we found that the brightness temperature (TB) of this burst is extremely high, with that of 150 MHz over 1011 K and generally over 108 K. The degree of circular polarization (q) is between 60% ? -100% which means highly left handed – polarized. The flux-frequency spectrum follows a power law distribution and the spectral index is considered to be roughly –3 ? -4 throughout the IVs. According to the NRH and SDO/AIA over-plotted images, the IVs is generated on a magnetic field line associated with CME eruption. Based on the high TB and high jqj, and the power law flux-frequency spectra, we suggest that the IVs is generated through Electron Cyclotron Maser (ECM) emission.
