From the Airport to KASI (Daejeon)

Daejeon is around 200 km southeast of ICN (Incheon international airport) and it takes around 3 hours by car. There are two options to reach KASI from the airport, by bus (transit limousine bus) or by train (KTX). We recommend you take the BUS which is a lot easier. You can find detailed information for each option below.

• (← click) By Bus The bus connecting the airport (both terminals 1 and 2) and Daejeon operates every 30 minutes. You can buy a bus ticket (26,300 KRW) at the bus stop (see the image) and will get off at either ‘Daedeok community center’ stop or ‘Daejeon government complex’ stop. Walk back along the bus route for 15 minutes from ‘Daedeok community center’ until you reach KASI (on your right). Those who stay at Toyoko Inn or any hotels downtown would want to get off at ‘Daejeon government complex’ stop, which is very close to Toyoko Inn. • (← click) By Rail Those who want to take reach Daejeon by rail need to follow the airport signs for ARex trains. You can buy a ticket all the way from the airport to Daejeon via Seoul Station (in which case they'll ticket you on a slightly later train to Daejeon to make sure you catch it), or buy a ticket to Seoul Station and then buy a ticket there to Daejeon on the very next train; it doesn't make much difference. At Seoul Station, follow the signs upstairs to KTX, the express long-distance train. If you already have your ticket, just go to the platform indicated; otherwise, buy your ticket after looking at the departure board to find the next train to Daejeon (any KTX heading to Busan will stop in Daejeon). The KTX takes 1 hour to reach Daejeon. At Daejeon Station, go upstairs and cross to the main area, and then go downstairs to the main exit. Follow the signs to the taxi rank. From downtown to KASI (local public transportation)

If you are staying at Toyoko Inn (or any hotels nearby in ‘Doonsan’, the simple way to reach KASI is to take bus #301. You may pay with either cash (1,400 krw) or the transit card (t-money card; 1,250 krw) on the bus. (We will provide the t-money card with 10,000 krw deposit at the reception or information desk during the workshop.) There are other bus options (#1 or #5) that you could take depending on the area your hotel locates in.
