Title : Data-Driving Evolving Models of the Solar Corona
Abstract
We introduce the Coronal Global Evolutionary Model (CGEM) framework for data-driven modeling of the solar coronal magnetic field. This framework consists of a number of central components, including (1) electric field inversions from temporal sequences of SDO/HMI vector magnetograms, (2) a Constrained Surface Flux Transport (CSFT) Model, which evolves the surface field distribution by explicitly imposing electric fields, and (3) a magnetofrictional model for the coronal magnetic field. This approach allows one to follow the evolution of active regions from emergence to shearing, and from flux rope formation to subsequent ejection. It is capable of incorporating active regions rotating over the east limb onto the visible disk without causing a global flux imbalance. Strategies on how to include magnetogram data from the L5 perspective will also be discussed.
